Landfills and Environmental Justice
Join us on Wednesday, March 1 at 1:00pm Eastern.
Speaker: Carolyn Burch, Sustainability Analyst, Rubicon
Join us as we discuss environmental justice, the roles race and class play into environmental decision-making, and the environmental concerns in low-income communities. Landfills are known for causing environmental and health issues, and some communities are disproportionally impacted. Featured speaker, Carolyn Burch, currently works at Rubicon as a sustainability analyst where she supports Rubicon’s environmental sustainability initiatives. Carolyn studied environmental justice as a part of her undergraduate degree with her capstone focusing on the siting of toxic release inventory (TRI) facilities in marginalized communities.
