Sign to Stop Species from Fading Away

Wildlife in trouble

Habitat loss, disease, and encroaching human development are taking a severe toll on our at-risk species. For 50 years the Endangered Species Act has played a pivotal role in saving iconic species like the bald eagle and hundreds more animals from going extinct. However, more than one-third of native plant and animal species in the U.S. are at heightened risk of extinction. The once common monarch butterfly is drastically declining and bighorn sheep face threats from habitat loss to diseases. We need more than the Endangered Species Act to conserve our treasured wildlife.

Sign the petition we’re delivering to leaders in Congress, urging them to prioritize passage of the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act. This historic bill builds upon the legacy of the Endangered Species Act and provides the additional measures we need today to save all plant and animal species in trouble.

PETITION TO CONGRESS:

For 50 years the Endangered Species Act has played a pivotal role in the recovery of iconic national species like the bald eagle. It is a foundational conservation law that has saved hundreds of additional species from reaching extinction. However, our fish, wildlife, and plants face more challenges than ever before. Habitat loss, encroaching human development, disease, and other threats are leading to the decline of thousands of species - more than the Endangered Species Act can recover by itself.

It is time for Congress to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act. This bipartisan legislation will ensure fish and wildlife managers have the resources they need to implement proactive conservation projects, helping to prevent species from becoming endangered in the first place.
