Caja del Rio

Diverse wildlife – including elk, mule deer, burrowing owls, and golden eagles – all make their home on the Caja. In fact, the Caja is a critical piece of the wildlife migration corridor that runs from Colorado to Mexico–one of the most intact wildlife pathways in the nation.

Despite this, the Caja faces numerous threats including wildfire, mining, vandalism, illegal dumping and shooting, and habitat fragmentation. That’s why a broad coalition of Indigenous, Latino and other community leaders have come together to advocate for permanent protections for this sacred landscape.

Please let Congress and the Biden Administration know that you want to see increased protections for the Caja del Rio.
