NO to oil drilling in the Apalachicola River Basin

Tell Florida Governor Ron Desantis and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Block and Revoke Permits for Drilling in the Apalachicola River Basin!

The Apalachicola River Basin, including the river, its tributaries, and Apalachicola Bay, is one of the Gulf’s true ecological treasures. Home to numerous endangered species of all types and as the economic driver that supports fishermen, oystermen, and ecotourism, this is a wondrous place that reminds us of what once was and what can be again with conservation and restoration. This is the last place we should be drilling for oil. Despite the lessons learned from the BP15 disaster, the state of Florida is permitting exploratory drilling within miles of an Outstanding Florida Waterway and a National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Please tell Florida’s Governor and FDEP to block and revoke any permits that would allow this travesty to go forward!
