I am writing in opposition of any plan that would mandate the sale of more than a million acres of America’s public lands. These lands provide important wildlife habitat, support robust hunting and angling, offer endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, and are the engines that power rural communities. Please vote against and help defeat any provision or bill that would sell off our public lands.

The proposal you are considering side-steps existing laws, cuts out public input from people like me, diverts money away from conservation efforts, largely ignores the concerns of Indigenous communities, fails to contemplate impacts of land sales on habitat, water, and wildlife, and will result in the sell off of our public lands for development of all kinds – not just housing, as proponents argue.

It’s time to put a stop to this notion that our public lands should be auctioned to the highest bidder. Please take a stand for our lands and our heritage! Oppose and help defeat any attempts to sell our public lands. Keep public lands in public hands.
