Dear Representative and Senators,

As an avid hunter and angler, I am very disappointed that the administration and some in Congress want to remove protections for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

These protections were based on sound science that showed the watershed of the Boundary Waters is no place for sulfide-ore copper mining. Hardrock mining uses hazardous pollutants that are harmful to wildlife and people and could permanently harm the waters and forests of the Boundary Waters.

This unique area is a sporting paradise and an economic engine for Minnesota, generating $1.1 billion in economic activity. This incredible ecosystem provides habitat for hundreds of species of wildlife and world class opportunities for hunting and fishing.

Please vote against a Congressional Review Act that will end protections for this national treasure. We must safeguard wildlife, and ensure the continuation of sporting opportunities by keeping safeguards in place for approximately a quarter million acres within the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
