The South Central region spans a vast, rich abundance of natural ecosystems rivers, mountains, forests, deserts, oceans that are home to thousands of wildlife and game species, from bears and songbirds to whales and oysters.
But the ecosystems in the South Central region are in trouble and wildlife are in peril. Right now, wetlands are vanishing, rivers are slowing to a trickle, native prairies are being transformed to farmland, southern forests are dying, and coastal communities are facing catastrophic flooding from increasingly severe climate-induced storms. Across this beautiful region, children are staying indoors and missing out on developing a connection to nature.
Your gift to the National Wildlife Federation's South Central Regional Center can make a lasting difference. With your support, we can advocate for wetlands restoration, educate on water conservation and coastal resilience, promote practices that protect our native prairies and forests, and connect kids with nature.
